Chantry Academy students took a trip to London to visit the world-famous Globe Theatre last week. The 51 Year 10 students, along with Miss Leaning, Miss Bevan, Miss Burn, Miss King and Mr Baker-Woods, took a coach to the capital before alighting at the Docklands where they boarded an Uber Boat along the Thames. The students admired the sights as they whizzed along the river, including Tower Bridge, The O2, the Tower of London and HMS Belfast. The group disembarked at Bankside pier before walking the short distance to The Globe theatre, where they enjoyed an exciting modern adaption of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Miss Leaning, 2nd in English, said: “The students all behaved impeccably – we were very impressed. It was great to see them so excited about being in London. They were also really absorbed in the play; there is nowhere else like The Globe for seeing Shakespeare live!”
